2021 Merle

Varietal: 100% Merlot

Vineyard: Mama D’s (S. Okanagan)

Winemaking: 40 months in neutral oak

Nose: Smoked cherry, cassis, raspberry

Taste: Strawberries, raspberries, red cherries

Label TL;DR: This label is specifically inspired by the varietal and its vineyard struggles. Merlot being the first to ripen on the vine in Bordeaux means it’s the first to start disappearing thanks to the blackbirds of the area eating the fruit. Handily, the French call a blackbird, Merle, a perfect tie into our Merlot.
