2022 Singita Pinotage
Vineyard Source: Summerland Vineyard, Summerland - planted on sandy loam soils and farmed by a mother-daughter duo from South Africa. Cool evening breezes preserve freshness and acidity, while the site’s heritage varietals, Pinotage and Chenin Blanc, bring character and delicacy to the fruit.
Winemaking: Aged 30 months — 85% neutral oak, 15% second-fill American oak — balancing texture and subtle oak influence while letting the vineyard’s unique expression shine.
Nose: Cocoa powder, fruit cake, sour cherry
Taste: Pomegranate, elderberry, eucalyptus
Vintage: 2022 — the season began with winter frost and a cool spring, but a hot, dry summer and fall allowed for a successful late harvest. The resulting wines show excellent concentration, balance, and freshness, making 2022 a standout vintage for this vineyard.
