Winemaking: Stainless steel, forced carbonation

Nose: Tart raspberry, strawberries, white pepper, orange zest

Taste: Strawberry, raspberry, ruby grapefruit, Kirkland sunshine blend

Label TL;DR: Rumor has it the first vintage had eight grapes, so with “pink bubbles + 8 grapes” as the brief, Paul Morstad delivered an octopus masterpiece—topped, naturally, with Napoleon. Fitting, since he helped popularize the art of sabrage: cracking champagne with a saber to celebrate victories (and maybe impress a few ladies). From there, the legend of Shovelage was born!
