Vintage: In 2024, Okanagan vineyards faced unprecedented vine death due to extreme cold events during the winter of 2023/2024. A sudden drop in temperature in January—reaching below -30°C in some areas—caused severe damage to vine trunks and buds, especially in sensitive varieties.. This cold snap, combined with already stressed vines from previous years of heat and drought, led to widespread vine loss across the valley, reducing yields dramatically and forcing many growers to replant. This little plot survived against all odds.
