2023 Braided Hill Chardonnay

Vineyard Source: Braided Hill Vineyard, West Kelowna — an 8.5-acre west-facing slope planted to Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Rocky loam and clay soils, combined with cool lake breezes and warm afternoon sun, produce expressive fruit with freshness, structure, and vibrant acidity.

Winemaking: Aged 16 months — 4×300 L neutral French oak and 2×220 L neutral American oak — enhancing texture and subtle complexity while showcasing the vineyard’s character.

Nose: Caramel, cooked apples

Taste: Pine tar, Anjou pears, baking spices

Vintage: 2023 — a challenging year with a late spring frost that drastically reduced yields. The surviving fruit exhibits remarkable concentration and bright acidity, reflecting both the vineyard’s resilience and the dedication of its growers.
