Collab of Kindness: $8,748 raised for the Kelowna Women's Shelter

$8,748 Raised Through 2026 “Sips of Support” Campaign Benefiting the Kelowna Women’s Shelter!!

We are proud to announce the successful completion of the 2026 Sips of Support campaign, raising $4,374 through beverage sales across its wineries, brewery, ciderhouse, and retail partners — an amount that was matched dollar-for-dollar by Geoffrey Oliver of HM Commercial, bringing the total impact to $8,748 in support of the Kelowna Women’s Shelter.

This annual March initiative raises both funds and awareness for women and children experiencing domestic violence, honouring the memory of Jason Parkes’ cousin, Aimee Parkes, whose life was tragically lost to intimate partner violence.

Campaign Results: Community Generosity in Action
Throughout March, JPC donated $1 from every qualifying beverage sold across its portfolio, including wine, cider, beer, and specialty cocktails, with participation from all JPC Tasting Rooms, The Hatching Post Brewery & Smokery, Truck 59 Ciderhouse, and Save-On-Foods stores across British Columbia.

Guests, staff, and community partners rallied behind the cause, resulting in thousands of products sold and hundreds of additional customer donations, culminating in a total of $4,374 raised. With Geoffrey Olliver’s matched contribution, the campaign reached $8,748 in support of the Kelowna Women’s Shelter.

Community Support Continues:

Paynter’s Fruit Market & Porrelli Law Join the Mission
The spirit of Sips of Support continues beyond March. JPC is thrilled to highlight additional community-led initiatives that extend the impact of this work:
May 1–10, 2026 Paynter’s Fruit Market will donate 25% of all coffee and ice cream sales to the Kelowna Women’s Shelter in honour of their opening week. This initiative is further strengthened by Porrelli Law, which has generously committed to matching donations up to $5,000.

A Shared Commitment to Awareness and Safety As emphasized by both Jason Parkes and Michelle Dickie, Executive Director of the Kelowna Women’s Shelter, this campaign is about more than fundraising. “We are incredibly grateful for this support that will directly strengthen the programs and services that support adults, children, and youth impacted by domestic abuse. Partnerships like this not only help us meet community needs, but also send a powerful message that our community stands together against
domestic abuse. Their initiative brings awareness and reinforces our shared vision of a community free from abuse.,” says Dickie.

Parkes adds, “These campaigns — these collabs of kindness — are about showing up for one another. When our community comes together, we create real change.”

Thank you to our community, we did this together!
